It sounds like the laziest trailer ever. Cut together a bit of vague, light-hearted behind-the-scenes footage, slap on a title card and boom. Go join the horror trailer makers for a pint. Yet the trailer for Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, which does just that, is a great piece of advertising. There's copious shots of Spielberg, Lucas and Ford shooting the key action sequences, teasing without giving anything resolute. There's a real understand of what people want to see - there's a nice reveal of Sean Connery and a long-running joke about Indy's fedora - but it's all in such a non-commital way you learn nothing (bar that it's visual design is closer to Raiders than Temple Of Doom). In an age before the internet, where every day of shooting on a big movie brings with it a barrage of news stories, in 1988 this would have been the first most people who know there even was going to be a third Indiana Jones. And so while Avengers: Age Of Ultron's trailer has to sneak in lots of little clues for fans to pour over, all that needs to be done here is have Harrison Ford stand up and say "there's going to be another one". Which is pretty much what this is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W3PS69fWu9U
