When The Muppets came back to the big screen in 2011 they faced an up-hill battle. It was decades since they were culturally relevant, with the current young generation knowing them as something not quite a mop and it's not quite a puppet who had a few hit-and-miss films. James Bobin's reboot would have probably corrected that itself with its irreverent reverence and catchy songs, but, taking no chances, Disney implemented a knock-out advertising campaign. In the year leading up to release, there were several parody trailers released using footage from the film mocking some recent teasers for other movies; we got Green With Envy (generic rom-com), The Fuzzy Pack (The Hangover Part II), Being Green (Green Lantern), The Pig With The Froggy Tattoo (guess) and The Final Muppets Parody Trailer (Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Paranormal Activity, Puss In Boots and, strangest of all, Green With Envy). Each one was a pitch perfect encapsulation of their respective targets (with a twist), in keeping with The Muppet's tone. It's obviously not as easy as just a basic run of trailers, but it really helped reaffirm the Muppet brand (before Muppets Most Wanted almost buried them again). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CloKbXtD28
