11. Chris Evans - The Battle For Terra
Attempting to upend the formula for standard sci fi invasion films, Battle for Terra must be commended for its admirable choice to go against the cliches of the genre and offer a fresh take on tired tropes.
The plot of the flick follows peaceful aliens attempting to thwart an exiled human from invading their planet, a pretty novel pitch which unfortunately can’t make up for the films glaringly ugly animation and boring, lifeless action.
The flick somehow netted then rising star Chris Evans for a major role, but unfortunately for the filmmakers the presence of The Human Torch wasn’t enough to bring cinema goers in and the film flopped hard despite some relatively positive reviews. Like the previous year’s Delgo, the film is now relegated mostly to—well, to embarrassing former starring role lists like this one.
