12 Badass MCU Plans That Should NEVER Have Been Scrapped

2. Thanos Decapitates Captain America

The final act of Avengers: Endgame is quite possibly the greatest hour in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, with too many epic moments to count. From the return of the snapped heroes, to Cap lifting Mjolnir, and Tony’s snap, among many, many others, it was like a movie in itself.

It was almost even bigger, with another moment that would have shocked fans everywhere. 2014 Thanos, a different animal than his 2018 and 2023 counterparts, traveled through time to fight Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and there was a point when the script called for him to bring something with him.

Could there be any declaration of war more terrifying and real than Thanos dropping Steve Rogers’ head at the feet of the Avengers. This scene would have taken place in a different timeline, obviously with a second Captain America, but it was deemed to make the time travel aspect of the movie too confusing.

Even if Thanos could have somehow brought 2014 Captain America’s head to 2023, even if the actual act needed to happen off screen, this scene should have been kept in by whatever means necessary. It would have been a perfect mirror to Thanos seeing Thor cut his own head off, and would have been a truly awe inspiring, magic cinema moment that solidified Thanos' threat and legacy even more so.
