After making an immediate splash in the MCU with his appearance in Captain America: Civil War, Spidey was given his first Marvel Studios solo movie in 2017. It ticked every box as it showed the youngster desperately trying to prove himself worthy of becoming a full time Avenger.

Naturally, this went incredibly wrong and Tony Stark wound up having to save the day when the Staten Island Ferry was literally torn in half. This highlighted just how out of his depth Peter was when Iron Man bailed him out, and there were almost a couple more Avengers involved.

With the whole story surrounding Tom Holland's character trying to get onto the team, it would have been brilliant, and heart breaking, to see the entire team have to step up to save him. There was an idea at one stage that Iron Man would come to save the ferry along with both Vision and War Machine.

This may have only been a cameo, but it would have dumped even more guilt and disappointment on Spider-Man, knowing he caused all three to come and help him. What's worse is that this would have to have been an approved Avengers mission thanks to the Sokovia Accords. Instead of helping, Peter Parker accidentally caused a genuine Avengers level threat.
