12 Bafflingly High 2017 IMDB Scores You Will Not Believe

10. The Space Between Us (6.4)

The Space Between Us
STX Entertainment

A shockingly inept attempt to meld the sci-fi and weepie romance genres together, The Space Between Us feels like a Nicholas Sparks drama in every fibre of its being, but bizarrely enough, it's actually a totally original script.

Leads Asa Butterfield and Britt Robertson have zero romantic chemistry at all, the plot has to field numerous ludicrous plot twists, Gary Oldman and Carla Gugino slum in supporting roles for easy paychecks, and it's ultimately more laughably cheesy than heartfelt. Yuck.

When something as insufferably manipulative as The Notebook proudly rocks a 7.9 IMDB score (with over 400,000 votes no less), perhaps the movie's respectable 6.4 shouldn't be that surprising.

The Score It Deserves: It deserves mild praise for the impressive visual effects and cinematography during the space and Mars sequences, but anything more than 4.0 is a travesty.
