12 Bafflingly High 2017 IMDB Scores You Will Not Believe
8. Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (6.7)
The only one of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies to have a score reflective of its actual quality is the first, which touts a strong 8.0. The second, third and fourth movies hold 7.3, 7.1 and 6.6 respectively, all at least a point or two higher than they deserve for being generic, inferior cash-ins, propelled by Johnny Depp's increasingly tired boozy pirate shtick.
Then came the fifth movie this past summer, which has rightly scored slightly higher than the previous film, but a 6.7? That's mightily generous for a mostly forgettable action adventure romp with a sleepwalking Johnny Depp performance and an hilariously lousy final plot twist.
The Score It Deserves: It does have some fun action and Kaya Scodelario's new female lead is a neat addition, so it doesn't deserve a totally duff rating. What about 5.2? Dead center, basically.
