12 Biggest Box Office Flops Of 2017 (So Far)

5. Snatched

The Night Before and 50/50 director Jonathan Levine’s latest effort Snatched wasn’t exactly the biggest flop we’ve seen so far this year but a $55 million profit on a $42 million production budget isn’t exactly much to write home about either.

Starring Goldie Hawn and Reddit’s least favourite comedian Amy Schumer as a mother-daughter duo who find themselves kidnapped and held for ransom by Ecuadorian gangsters, the action comedy proved a miss with critics too who lambasted its barely-there plot and thin on the ground laughs and scored it a rather measly 37% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It’s quite a shame really, at least for Goldie Hawn who made her return to the silver screen in Snatched after a 15 year long hiatus from film. That’s quite the anti-comeback, but perhaps agreeing to star alongside the increasingly unfunny Schumer wasn’t really the best of career choices.
