There can be no denying that Phase Four has been certainly the MCU’s most inconsistent, and arguably its worst Phase so far. Out of the six movies released as of yet, there have been only two that have been genuine hits with the MCU fans.
Spider-Man: No Way Home was always going to be a megahit, but more surprising was the huge popularity of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Shang-Chi made a big impression, and the film's post-credit scene showed the titular character and Awkwafina’s Katy summoned to a meeting of Wong, Bruce Banner, and Carol Danvers, clearly indicating that he will be a member of the Avengers down the line. He may even already be, there’s no real way of knowing.
Though he will certainly have a role in Avengers 5 and 6, Shang-Chi 2 is one of the most expected movies in Phase Six that hasn’t yet been announced. Though, with Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton helming The Kang Dynasty in 2025, there may only be a small window of opportunity for this movie to work. Still, continue to expect Shang-Chi’s next appearance to be in his next solo outing even without official confirmation.
