3. How Does Amanda Waller Know Bruce Wayne Is Batman? - Suicide Squad

Joker Scars Dark Knight
Warner Bros. Pictures

In the post-credits scene for Suicide Squad Amanda Waller meets Bruce Wayne to coerce him into helping her with the media cover-up that will ultimately protect her job and her interests with the Squad. The pair share fairly pleasant exchanges, but then as he leaves she basically flat-out tells him she knows he's Batman.

Wayne goes frosty for a moment, adopting a deeper voice and threatens to shut the operation down (wrongly claiming he has friends to help, despite the fact he's literally only just got Waller's dossiers on the meta-humans a minute earlier) if she doesn't. Then he's on his heels and out of there.

Isn't this a much bigger deal than plays out here? Waller might be a hard-ass and a bitch with connections, but how could she possibly know that he's Batman? It can't just be a matter of her spies picking up the info (he's not on a par with Boomerang and shouldn't be treated the same ever), and usually there's some sort of narrative leverage used to explain how characters come to find out Bruce's secret. Otherwise it just comes off as horribly casual and makes him look a bit rubbish...
