12 Controversial Horror Movies That Shocked The World
7. Silent Night, Deadly Night
Silent Night, Deadly Night could've easily become one of the many generic horror films that rode the slasher film wave in the 70's and 80's. What made this film stand out isn't its outstanding quality (it was average at best) but that the filmmakers thought that it would be a great idea to make Santa Claus the killer. Or more specifically, a killer who dressed like Santa Claus. Regardless of the specifics, audiences weren't particularly sold on a killer dressed as a beloved children's icon and the film caused a massive commotion. The premise is actually pretty lame as it involved a kid who saw his parents get killed by a man in a Santa Claus suit and this event caused him to become a killer himself. Every parent-teacher association slammed the film for being nothing more than filth whilst critics slammed the film because it was simply terrible. Sadly for the film, its lasting legacy has been one focused more on the controversy it generated rather than for its own artistic merits.
My life story is nothing special. I haven't cured ebola, I'm nowhere near stopping terrorism, and I'm still working on that climate change problem.
Instead, all I've done so far is put a few hundred words together in an attempt to make people laugh.
