12 Controversial Movie Endings That Came Out Of Nowhere

9. The "Unresolved" Ending - The Devil Inside

Here's what is arguably the rudest and most insanely presumptuous movie ending in the history of the medium. It was controversial all right, and for good freakin' reason. The Devil Inside is a lame and less-than-generic "found footage" horror movie with a plot so inane and nonsensical that a synopsis isn't even necessary. All you need to know about this movie is that, during its most climatic scene (which results in a ill-judged car crash), the movie just cuts to a black screen. Just when you think something else might happen, a title card pops up directing audiences to - and brace yourself here, 'cause it's gonna get ugly - go to a website in order to continue the story. "The facts surrounding the Rossi case remain unresolved,€ it reads. €œFor more information about the ongoing investigation visit: www.TheRossiFiles.com." Is there any reason to explain why this unexpected, slap in the face of an ending was deemed to be controversial? It's an insult to every person who paid to see the film!
