12 Critical Responses To 2017 Films That Make No Sense

4. Thor: Ragnarok

Thor Ragnarok Wampa
Marvel Studios

The Film:

The third standalone Thor film, led by an acclaimed director, going a quirky, humorous route and being pitched as a Thor-Hulk buddy cop movie in space.

The Response:

Reviews have been overwhelmingly positive and have praised it as the funniest MCU film to date.

Why They Got It Wrong:

This is a witty, often enjoyable film for sure, but it really isn't anything more than that. It's also just a tonal and aesthetic repeat of Guardians of the Galaxy and that movie wasn't that great either.

In addition to that, the action is forgettable, pathos is non-existent and worst of all, it's just another safe Marvel movie which feels like a factory product.

Have you ever noticed how you're find something funnier if other people around you are laughing? The thing is, most people who found this so hilarious will have watched it in a theater full of people laughing and that will have made the film seem far funnier than it actually is.
