12 Greatest Ever Character Entrances In MCU History
3. Thor (Thor: Ragnarok)
Just about everything to do with Thor: Ragnarok was better than the previous two movies in the trilogy. Taika Waititi turned everything upside down, and as well as the humour and the almost Guardian-esque style, he reinvigorated the main character himself.
Thor had become tired and almost boring since his debut in 2011, and was entirely turned around after six years to become one of the most popular characters in the entire MCU. This was partly thanks to Chris Hemsworth’s comedic acting chops, but Thor was also made more powerful than ever before.
Without Mjolnir, Thor was forced to look deep within himself and find his strength rather than relying on what was only supposed to channel it. By the end of the movie, when fighting Hela on Asgard, he discovered his new power with lightning literally coursing through his veins.
Jumping down to the rainbow bridge, with lightning buzzing and crackling around him, forking off into Hela’s army of Berserkers, in slow motion, to the music of Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin, was arguably the greatest shot of the entire movie. The new and improved Thor was officially here.
