12 Greatest Ever Character Entrances In MCU History
4. Spider-Man (Captain America: Civil War)
While Black Panther went part way towards making up for the omission of Thor and Hulk from Civil War, he was very much a surprise element to the movie. A welcome one, but a surprise. In terms of characters making their MCU debuts in the movie, the focus was very much not on T’Challa.
Instead, fans of the franchise were more excited to see Spider-Man swing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time. Rebooted from the then disappointing Amazing Spider-Man world, Tom Holland became the new Peter Parker and this was his moment.
Earlier in the movie, Tony Stark did some recruiting for Team Iron Man, and visited Peter and May in Queens. He made fun of Peter’s suit and Aunt May’s date loaf, and invited the 14-year-old child to fight a legendary super soldier in Germany. After Stark had enough of Rogers’ words, he called his newest and youngest recruit into action and the rest is history.
Spidey swung in and stole Cap’s shield while showing off his new Stark tech suit, quipping his way into everyone’s hearts immediately. This was the moment that truly broke the internet when the trailer was released, though nothing was taken away from the scene in the movie itself.
