In what's felt like an age since we were terrified by the events of the Enfield haunting in The Conjuring 2, we finally have the premise of the third entry in this series; and you can breathe a sigh of relief, there won't be a werewolf in sight, despite what the rumour mill churned out.

This time around Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga's ghost hunters Lorraine and Ed Warren have got themselves tangled up in what is known to be the only court case where a person has claimed demonic possession as their defence in a court of law.

With this one being helmed by Michael Chaves, who did an admirable job with wispy material in The Curse Of La Llorona, its likely the film will flit back to the possession that lead to a shocking murder, interspersed with what we hope will be some tense courtroom action.

But, most of all, like its predecessors you can expect this to be a ghost train-like thrill ride like no other in 2020.
