George Romero's classic Night of the Living Dead is not only one of the first zombie movies ever produced, but one of the very first horror movies ever released. It introduced the world to some absolute horror staples such as bleak endings and that sunrises are everyone's best friends, however it clearly didn't get the memo that a film's final girl needs to be tough, likeable and make it through the movie unscathed.

Barbara is introduced in Night of the Living Dead right from the opening scene, but never establishes herself as anyone audiences would want around during an actual zombie apocalypse. She's tentative, terrified and constantly the voice of pessimism for Ben to battle alongside the zombies.

In her first scene, Barbara watches her brother has his head slammed against a gravestone by one of the zombies, and never really moves on from seeing that. During the final closing in scene by the zombies, Barbara makes out her brother among the crowd of undead, having been reanimated since his death.

Instead of doing literally anything else, Barbara decides to simply stand in place and shout 'no' at her zombie of a brother, quickly being hauled out to her death and leaving Ben unprotected and with a whole army to fight off alone.
