3. Why Did Heimdall Send Bruce Away And Not Thor? - Avengers: Infinity War
Heimdall always looked like a goner when Avengers: Infinity War came around. He'd mostly seen his arc completed in Thor: Ragnarok and his official status as Asgard's watcher and protector was rendered redundant when it was destroyed and Thor stepped up as leader in place of his father.
In that respect, watching him die early was no surprise, but his final act definitely was. He ended up being key to the entire plot as it was he who sent warning to the Avengers on Earth by teleporting the Hulk down to Earth. But, why would he do that? Why not send the person who was clearly more valuable to him and to Asgard's legacy and who probably had a better chance of being key to take down Thanos in the longer term?
In other words, why didn't he send Thor to Earth instead of Bruce? There has to have been a conscious choice made (Heimdall did nothing rashly), but sadly, we now have no hope of knowing his true intentions since he's dead and very unlikely to return.
