12 Huge Movie Mysteries That Are Still Unsolved
4. Why Was Anita Friends With Cruella De Vil? - 101 Dalmations
Some movie mysteries have world-changing potential and some are far smaller, but no less compelling in their nature. That second category covers a question at the heart of Disney's animated classic 101 Dalmations.
In it, villainess Cruella De Vil is able to enact her plan to steal the puppies to make a fur coat because she has a relationship with the owners of the dogs. Shockingly, she seems to be a FRIEND of Anita's, which serves as a surface level explanation for them interacting at all. In the book, Cruella is a school-mate of Anita's but not really a friend, but the animated adaptation offers no logical explanation for their relationship.
Why would a mild-mannered, good-hearted woman like Anita be in any way close to the sadistic, psychopathic De Vil? One's a dog lover and the other loves animals only for their potential to be skinned and hung in her wardrobe. It makes no sense.
