12 Huge Questions For The Future Of The MCU

9. How Long Will Thor's Story Continue?

Avengers Infinity War Thor Groot Rocket
Marvel Studios

Thor has been around since 2011, and even though he first appeared in two solo movies and two Avengers movies, the character only recently got life injected in him with Thor: Ragnarok.

That movie gave us a wildly different – and much better – Thor than we had seen previously, so it feels like he’s only recently begun his journey. Even though Thor for the majority of Endgame is…not good, it’s clear from the ending that he’s not quite done yet, having joined the Guardians of the Galaxy. So unless they write him out of the third Guardians – Marvel, please don’t do that to us – he’s set on a new journey as he leaves Asgard (now lead by Valkyrie) and the Avengers behind.

But since he’s been around for so long, how much longer is he really going to stay?

Answer: Chris Hemsworth’s contract was supposed to expire after Endgame, but it wouldn’t make sense for the film to end the way it did if his story was over. Hemsworth has expressed interest in a fourth Thor, but joining the Guardians is an interesting turn for the character as well (if he's not in Guardians 3, we riot).

It’s hard to predict how much longer he’s staying, though – if he even is staying at all – so don’t hold your breath.
