12 Lesser Known Fall Movies You Should Be Excited About
5. Entertainment
Release date: November 13 (US)
One of the greatest pieces of comedy on the Internet right now is On Cinema, a webseries where Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington play hilariously incompetent movie reviewers. Turkington's other persona is the brilliant standup character Neil Hamburger, and Entertainment is a new feature film all about him, which looks about as dark and insane as you'd imagine.
The Neil Hamburger character is a terrible comedian telling the worst jokes ever and being generally depressing on stage, and Entertainment explores the behind the scenes life of this truly sad man trying and failing to make people laugh. Turkington is joined by Michael Cera, John C. Reilly, and of course Tim Heidecker himself.
The trailer is easily the most bizarre of the year, and this for sure is going to be one of those really out there art films that divides audiences. Either you love it, or you think it's the most pretentious piece of garbage you've ever seen. Reviews from Sundance were rather favourable, though, and it holds a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score based on seven reviews. If you're into Turkington's humour and specifically the Neil Hamburger schtick, be prepared to give this one five bags of popcorn.
