3. Graeme Willy (Paul)

Okay. So Graeme Willy might have been alive and well by the time the final credits rolled, but he did, technically speaking, die - therefore he has made it onto my list. Paul is the story of three average guys on a road trip... except one of them is an Alien. Pegg and Frost team up again, but this time, they hit America as two Comic Book Geeks that are visiting all the sci-fi sites that America has to offer. Through a series of bizarre events, they find themselves unwittingly aiding an alien named Paul in an attempt to flee Earth, where he has been held hostage since the fifties, forced to provide new source material for Steven Spielberg's own attempts at the science fiction genre! At the end of the film, in a Mexican stand off between Pegg and Frost, Jason Bateman's Agent Zogg, evangelical preacher John Carroll Lynch and Sigourney Weaver's "Big Guy", Pegg finds himself on the receiving end of a shotgun blast to the chest. It's not the first time one of the duo has 'died' in a movie - Frost getting zombified in Shaun of the Dead nearly made it into this spot on the list! Alas, Paul was on hand to save the day, doing some of his Alien voodoo and bringing back his earthling buddy back from the grave. Okay so it was a twee ending but the fact remains that, upon first watch, seeing a gaping hole in Pegg's chest was definitely unexpected. Place on this list, justified. *An honorable mention goes to Sigourney Weaver in "Paul" as well... munched by the landing ramp of a UFO. What a way to go.*
