2. The Woman In Black

Wolf Of Wall Street
Momentum Pictures/ CBS Films

A tense and terrifying effort from the rebooted Hammer horror studios released in 2012, The Woman in Black is the chilling tale of Daniel Radcliffe’s grieving widower, a young lawyer who is charged with handling the sensitive and extremely haunted estate of a troubled family living in a remote small town.

The hero soon discovers there’s a gruesome child killing curse afoot in the seemingly idyllic village, one which is rooted in the twisted history of the estate he’s handling and the titular woman in black, a horrifying figure driving kids to their deaths.

Fortunately, as in any good ghost story, our heroes are able to return the remains of the eponymous ghoul’s son to their proper burial place and put an end to her reign of terror.

Just kidding.

Despite being at peace, despite the heroes doing everything right, despite the entire point of the preceding plot, the woman in black kills poor Harry Potter anyway—and his young son.

Did someone say this was from the director of Eden Lake by any chance?
