12 Most Anxiety-Inducing Sci-Fi Movies EVER
10. Cube
With a trippy, creepy minimalist aesthetic that echoes the likes of George Lucas' debut THX 1138 and the clinical early scenes of Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey, Splice helmer Vincenzo Natali's 1997 sci fi thriller Cube is not a film for those expecting answers.
However, if you're happy to accept the explanation-free premise that a handful of mismatched strangers awake in a blank, cube-shaped room and in their attempts to escape encounter no end of booby traps, tricks, and killer security mechanisms, then you're set to have your heart rate rattled by this flick.
Don't get too attached to any characters, as you'll soon find none of them are too attached to themselves in this dark, and darkly funny, dystopian sci fi.
