12 Most Dark And Twisted Movie Scenes Of 2017

10. Logan – Professor Charles Xavier’s Death

A Cure For Wellness
Fox

We can accept that Charles died in Logan. Ravaged by old age and a dementia-like disease, he was a shadow of his former self and it’s always better to leave on a high note like Logan rather than a low note like the 72nd instalment in the X-Men series. Plus, if Patrick Stewart decides it’s time to go then it’s time to go.

We can also accept that Charles’ death – adamantium claw through the heart – was bloody and brutal but in-keeping with the overall tone of the movie. But what made Charles’ death so twisted and hard to swallow was that he thought it happened at the hands of his closest friend Logan.

Of course, it wasn’t really Logan but his Transigen clone X-24, and we’re pretty sure that Professor X realised this once young Wolverine-in-training Laura attacked the imposter. But still – that look of shocked betrayal that briefly crossed Charles’ face when he thinks it’s Logan who’s killed him? Brutal.
