12 Most Expensive Movie Props Ever Sold

9. Dorothy's Ruby Slippers

Sold for: $660,000 As with most props, numerous pairs of the ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in 1939's The Wizard Of Oz were produced and used for the film. This particular pair was bought by Anthony Landini, who loaned them to Disney for display in the Great Movie Ride attraction in Florida. Many of the pairs of slippers used in the film were treated carelessly by MGM after production had ended, unaware that they would become highly sought after. Most of them were found and sold by studio employee Kent Warner, who supplemented his income with prop sales. Owners of some of these pairs are thought to include the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio and Lady Gaga.
