12 Movie Franchises You Didn't Realise Were Still Going
3. Cabin Fever
The Films You Know: 2002's Cabin Fever is the savage, old-school horror flick which put director Eli Roth on the map, being a rare horror film to actually earn decent reviews and also make a ton of money. Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever was released 7 years later in 2009 and directed by up-and-comer Ti West, but the movie was rinsed by the few critics who bothered to watch it (it had an extremely limited theatrical release and went straight-to-video in many territories). The Films You Don't: The third film, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero, went straight-to-video in most countries, even though a US theatrical release is planned later this year. Bizarrely starring Samwise Gamgee himself, Sean Astin, it is to its credit a not-awful horror prequel, if not exactly particularly good either. It's not over, though, as a fourth film, Cabin Fever: Outbreak, began production straight after and is due for release sometime in 2014, so this thing is showing no signs of slowing down at all...
