11. Walk The Line – Ginnifer Goodwin’s Role
Logan director James Mangold’s 2005 biopic of troubled country music superstar Johnny Cash did an admirable job of depicting the singer’s flaws alongside his talent and offers no easy breaks to the erratic performer.
That said, Once Upon a Time star Ginnifer Goodwin’s role as Johnny Cash’s nagging first wife in Walk the Line could be entirely excised without losing anything, and this would in fact strengthen the film’s depiction of his later romance with June Carter.
Abhorred as a demonization of a good woman by her actual real-life children, the role serves to make Cash seem more self-interested and makes his first wife out to be a cruel, shrewish presence, doing neither any favours.
