12 Original Films That Could Be Big Hits In 2016

Another comedy team is looking to transfer their skills from television to the big screen this year. The powerhouse duo of Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele is among the most influential and refreshing new voices in comedy thanks to their hit sketch show, Key & Peele. Fans have been eagerly anticipating their first big screen collaboration and the wait is nearly over.

Keanu is about two friends who get mixed up with some violent criminals after their precious kitten is kidnapped by a gangster. The plot seems surprisingly simplistic given the genius behind these two comedians, but there’s no doubt they’ll be bring something unexpected to the proceedings.

Deadpool recently proved that there is still a massive audience for R-rated action comedies and this one looks like it could follow in the same success as Pineapple Express and Hot Fuzz. And the filmmakers are obviously no fools, as they clearly understand that nothing grabs an audience’s attention like cute animals.

There will no doubt be some crossover fans from Key & Peele who will be guaranteed to check it out, and hopefully that will help spread the news to folks who haven’t had the pleasure of seeing these two funny men at work. It’s entirely possible that by year’s end, Key and Peele will go from respected TV personas to household names.
