Think of how annoyed you'd be if you were given a lucrative opportunity to have fun in a huge blockbuster comic book movie sequel that was guaranteed to make money (and in fact was designed to make even MORE money than its predecessor), only to have the whole experience ruined for you because the director casts someone you can't stand.

That was the case for Tommy Lee Jones, who picked up a huge contract to star as Two-Face in Batman Forever (which at one point could have seen him star opposite Robin Williams) and had the whole experience ruined by having to work with Jim Carrey.

Carrey himself revealed how much his co-star disliked him and explained how the situation came to a head when he turned up at the same restaurant as Jones:

"The maitre said, 'Oh, I hear you're working with Tommy Lee Jones. He's over in the corner having dinner.' I went over and I said, 'Hey Tommy, how are you doing?' and the blood just drained from his face. And he got up shaking — he must have been in mid kill me fantasy or something like that. And he went to hug me and he said, 'I hate you. I really don't like you.' And I said, 'What's the problem?' and pulled up a chair, which probably wasn't smart. And he said, 'I cannot sanction your buffoonery.'"

To his credit, Carrey just brushes it all off, and says he "might have been uncomfortable doing that work, too... That's not really his style of stuff." Talk about diplomacy.
