12 Perfect 2020 Castings We Can't Wait To See
4. Frances McDormand - The French Dispatch
In a similar vein to his last outing The Grand Budapest Hotel; Wes Anderson's next quirky gem The French Dispatch is stacked with an all-star cast. While it would be easy to point to a red-hot Timothee Chalamet as a stand-out, or the inevitable Anderson/Murray combo which has been so successful thus far, it is a certain Frances McDormand that should have Wes Anderson fans salivating with excitement.
McDormand has been a tour-de-force in near every role she has undertaken, not least of all her recent Oscar winning turn in Three Billboards, and has some decent prep for Anderson's dry, original wit from her time working with the inarguable masters of this style; a certain Joel and Ethan Coen.
McDormand has the skill-set necessary to not only slot seamlessly into Anderson's distinct colour palette but even all the pre-requisite charisma and screen-presence for a scene-stealing turn in the work of a film-maker known for giving every cast member the tools to stand on their own.
Anderson and McDormand are a match made in heaven and, coming off the back of arguably two of their finest works to date, there has never been a better time for them to team up again.
