Everything that has been said for Professor X can be said for Magneto. After two perfect portrayals of the villain from Sir Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender, the next man up will always be compared to what came before. Along with the likes of Wolverine and Deadpool, Magneto is a character that many feel shouldn't ever be recast.

However, the show must go on, and there is no way Erik Lehnsherr is staying away from the MCU for long, now that his rights are back with Marvel Studios.

In Game of Thrones, Charles Dance brought the stoic Tywin Lannister to life as an intimidating force, willing to do anything in the name of his family. This is so easily transferred over to Magneto, where instead of the Lannisters fighting against the rest of Westeros, it is the Brotherhood of Mutants fighting against the rest of the world.

With Professor X and Magneto, the dialogue between the two has always been one of the most important aspects over anything else, and when Charles Dance speaks, you cannot help but shut up and listen intently. He is the kind of man who could read the phone book and you would be intoxicated and compelled, and could make any movie worth watching just with the sound of his voice.
