3. Sam Sweet Trail
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-0ha0NlRNk Remember when I said that Cable Guy was a multi-layered comedic film? Well the proof is in the ongoing saga of the Sam Sweet trial. Since the movie revolves around TV and is a critique of TV-influenced culture, it's only natural that Stiller and Company would include something riveting for our characters to watch during the film. Whenever there is a break in the action on screen and people sit down to watch some TV, they are always tuned in to the trial of Sam Sweet. Sweet was a child star (along with his twin bro) who grew up to be a cold-blooded murderer, claiming his beloved brother as his victim. The '90s was a time where the legal profession endured its share of media exposure due to landmark trials like the O.J. Simpson murder, and more directly, the Menendez brothers double homicide trial. Stiller's Sam Sweet trial saga within the film serves not only as great comedy, ("I'm pretty sure he's Asian!") but also as biting satire of the cultures exploitation of crime and punishment through television.

Raymond Woods is too busy watching movies to give you a decent bio. If he wasn't too busy watching movies and reading books about movies and listening to podcasts about movies, this is what he'd tell you. "I know more about film than you. Accept this as a fact and we might be able to talk."
