12 Shocking Implications Of 2016 Movies You Totally Missed

5. Charly's Being Recruited For The Game - 31

31 Ending
Saban Films

31 was Rob Zombie’s riff on The Running Man, where some kidnapped carnival workers are forced to play a cruel game for the amusement of bored rich people. They’re hunted down by redneck serial killers and a midget dressed like Hitler, who pick them off one at a time.

Only Charly survives, and that’s because the ticking clock of the game runs out. This frustrates head killer Doom-Head no end, and in the final scene he appears behind her and pulls out two flick blades. The implication is either that he’s challenging her to a fight – which she’ll lose – or the more twisted scenario is she’s being recruited for the game.

There’s a hint some of the other killers were being forced to take part, and since Charly is so traumatised after the night, her recruitment wouldn’t be out of the question.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
