12 Star Trek Films And Series You Won't Believe Were Almost Made

3. Star Trek: Titan - The Further Adventures Of Mr And Mrs Troi

If Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtiis had had their way, they would still be playing Will Riker and Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation season 27. In fact they loved Star Trek so much that they even turned up in the last ever TV episode in the franchise, Star Trek: Enterprise's These Are The Voyages. Their presence may have ruined the finale but there was no denying that these two - more than any other cast members - still had a passion to continue Star Trek. So much so that Jonathan Frakes pitched a series to Paramount which would have featured Captain William T. Riker and his wife Deanna on board the USS Titan - the ship he finally took command of at the end of Star Trek: Nemesis. Paramout rejected the idea and it went into the pot of unmade Star Trek shows like the rumoured Captain Worf show and William Shatner's pitch for a new Star Trek series. The reason? Star Trek fatigue. Although the world is ready for another Star Trek show now.
