8. The Material That Spaceships Should All Be Made Out Of - Guardians Of The Galaxy

At the culmination of Guardians Of The Galaxy, the Guardians lead a heroic struggle against Ronan, becoming casualties of war, but not fatalities as Groot sacrifices himself to save them. Clearly this act of heroism is necessary as the ship they were plummeting towards the ground in is pulverised. We get to see them sitting among debris, visibly broken up and dazed by the severity of the crash, whose force was enough to obliterate poor Groot. It's obvious the crash couldn't have been a lot worse. But it's just lucky for Peter Quill that his beloved Walkman is made of some sort of magical material that is impervious to massive damage and having a space ship collapse around it, as it's still in perfect working order. Maybe next time just make the spaceships out of that stuff, instead.
