12 Stupidest Decisions Made By Characters In X-Men Movies
11. Magneto Leaves His Helmet - Days Of Future Past
In the final scene of Days Of Future Past, Mystique squares off against Magneto, and during their tussle, the blue lady manages to knock his helmet from his bonce and send it toppling to the ground. The helmet, designed by the Russians and first worn by Sebastian Shaw, enables the wearer to be unaffected by telepaths and Cerebro. So, all in all, it's quite a good deal for one of the worlds most dastardly mutant villains. With Magneto rendered fair game without it, Xavier controls him in order to lift a ton of heavy wreckage from his body. Defeated, Magneto exits. Without the helmet. Its a bizarre move considering how he leaves his relationship with Xavier. Theyre not on the best of terms, and Xavier is blessed with phenomenal telepathic skills. He is now able to not only track Magneto through Cerebro, but pop into his head and get him to do whatever he fancies. Why on Earth would Magneto allow this to happen with only an obligatory attempt to take it? His helmet is his saving grace.
