10. Kill Bill: Vol. 2 €“ The Bride Is Reunited With Her Daughter

Some may not consider Kill Bill a particularly macho movie but any movie that contains samurai swords, kung-fu, decapitations, eye-gouging and a mind-blowing face off between The Bride and the Crazy 88 deserves a spot on this list. So what about the touching moment? That comes right at the end, when The Bride is finally reunited with her daughter, B.B. Unaware that her child is alive, The Bride has finally reached her final destination of Bill's House. Searching the grounds, she suddenly hears a young girl shout "Freeze Mommy" and is devastated to turn around and see her daughter, alive and well. With Bill joining in a game of play dead, she tries to deal with this revelation without letting her surface crack. It was a side we had never seen, and a great payoff after the hyper-violent build up. Uma Thurman's acting really sells The Bride's pain and relief at being reunited with a daughter that she had long thought dead and, as they escape together, we can all smile with a lump in our throats as Tarantino gives us a rare happy ending.
