12 Things Marvel Will Want You To Forget About X-Men Movies

9. Gambit

Gambit X-Men Origins
20th Century Fox

Gambit is one of the most popular mutants in the Marvel universe, becoming a fan favourite since his creation in 1990 and subsequent TV series appearances. But in Fox's X-Universe, there is no love for Remy after his portrayal by Taylor Kitsch in Origins.

Despite having a rich history with the X-Men, a shady background, and a complex characterisation, the Ragin' Cajun has been limited to less than five minutes of screen time in just one out of 11 movies, allowing no time to develop or form real connections with the audience.

Clearly, the potential for this mysterious character is through the roof, with special ties to Rogue and even Mister Sinister, but none of this has ever been explored. Eventually, Fox decided that he was worth gambling on, beginning work on a solo movie for Gambit with Channing Tatum starring, but that couldn't have gone any worse either.
