12 Things You Learn Rewatching For Your Eyes Only

12. The Pre-Title Sequence Is An Insane Mess

For Your Eyes Only's pre-title sequence is a tonal car crash, for though it begins promisingly with Bond (Roger Moore) taking a trip to his dead wife Tracy's (Diana Rigg) grave, he's soon enough whisked into a chopper, which ends up being remotely piloted and nearly crashed by totally-not-Blofeld. The character couldn't officially be used due to legal reasons, so we only ever see him shot from behind.

Bond eventually wrangles control of the helicopter, however, locates not-Blofeld and scoops him up with the aircraft. At this point not-Blofeld begs Bond with the classically inane one-liner, "I'll buy you a delicatessen in stainless steel!" It's no good, though, and Bond blatantly murders the villain by dropping him down a freaking chimney. Yup.

At once hilarious and totally embarrassing, it's an awful end for such an iconic Bond antagonist, and like the rest of the movie, the pre-title sequence just can't decide what the hell it wants to be or what tone it wants to strike.
