8: Bond Vs. Red Grant - From Russia With Love

A close-quarters rumble on the Orient Express provides one of the most memorable scraps in the 23 and counting 007 franchise. At the beginning of the scene, it seems that the Russian operative Red Grant will finally put an end to everyone's favourite British spy. Not one to go down without a fight, the wily James Bond tricks Grant into opening Bond's booby trapped attaché case. The gullible Grant gets a face full of tear gas giving Bond an opportunity to get the drop on him. The pair fight tooth and nail, viciously slamming around the train compartment until bond finally wins via garrote. The fight took three weeks to film. Sean Connery (Bond) and Robert Shaw (Grant) decided to employ the use of stunt doubles as little as possible for that extra level of combative verisimilitude.
