6. Baron Helmut Zemo - Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Confirming his involvement with the wry comment that it "shouldn't land him in Marvel jail", Daniel Brühl has announced that he will appear as Baron Zemo in Captain America: Civil War. Brühl has noted that the character may appear different initially - the trademark mask will not be there from the start - but has implied that his swish purple head-wear will follow in subsequent instalments. The Inglorious Basterds star will be able to channel some of his breakthrough role into his performance as Zemo being that the Baron is the son of a gifted Nazi scientist. Like father like son, both frequently clash with Captain America, Zemo senior during WWII and Zemo junior after Cap's long sleep. A genius engineer with his father's Master Race propaganda driving his sinister machinations, Helmut is a master tactician, expert marksman and highly capable of holding his own mano y mano with Steve Rogers. His ability to lead and manipulate others will also likely have a large role in the breakdown of the Avengers during 2016's Civil War adaptation. Zemo's importance to the plot was cemented by Scarlett Witch actress Elizabeth Olsen who recently said, "Brühl is an incredible actor and he's playing the main villain" leaving most of the speculation dead in the water. With Marvel continuing to draw in such talented actors to fill out their villainous roster, there's plenty to be excited about.
