12 Upcoming Movie Sequels Nobody Asked For

1. Finding Dory

Release Date: June 17th, 2016 This one's liable to be controversial, because I'm sure there are people out there who want a sequel to Pixar's classic Finding Nemo, but I have one question for them: why? Finding Nemo was a colossal success with both critics and audiences, making over $900 million at the box office, but with so much time having passed since the first film (13 years by the time of release), Pixar will need to strike solid gold to live up to the same level of success. More to the point, Pixar's recent attempts to revisit previous franchises haven't exactly gone well: Cars 2 was terrible, and Monsters University was good but nowhere near as good as Monsters Inc. Then there's the point that it sounds like such a lazy enterprise. Finding Dory? Really? Can a feature length film really sustain Ellen DeGeneres' loopy, amnesia fish as the protagonist? Even with the promise of most of the main characters returning, I'm not convinced that this film needs to happen, or in fact that it even should. My hype level is zero on this one. Do you actually want to see any of these sequels? Let me know in the comments!
