Release Date: September 25th, 2015 Here's a film that I just didn't expect to be a success at all. Hotel Transylvania is a relatively unremarkable animated film about a hotel where the world's monsters hang out to get a break from dealing with humanity. So, we've got protagonist Dracula (Adam Sandler), Frankenstein's monster, a mummy, a werewolf family and so on holed up in this hotel, before mayhem is caused when a human stumbles across it, and takes an interest in Dracula's daughter. With unfussed voice performances, routine animation and a totally forgettable plot, it's difficult to imagine what audiences saw in this one. Critical opinion was mixed, yet the box office gross was over $350 million, more than four-times its budget, making it one of 2012's breakout hits and a shoo-in for a needless sequel. Though there are at least a lot of monsters for a film like this to draw from, without some new blood writing the script, I have absolutely no interest in this.
