Release Date: May 6th 2016 Of course its not a true adaptation of the comics (that would have been legitimately impossible whether you care to admit it or not), but the Avengers 2.5 stand-in is still going to be a major event. Well get to see the resolution of The Winter Soldier story, some seriously heated ructions among the Avengers and a three-headed dust-up between Iron Man, Bucky and Captain America that looks set to dethrone Daredevils corridor punch-out as the best ever MCU fight. Why Should You Be Thankful? As George Lucas would tell you, nothing adds more to a big fun blockbuster than a heavy focus on legislation and bureaucracy. Nope, kidding: the best thing about Civil War is that it completely changes the dynamic weve seen so far in Avengers movies. Not only will there be proper in-fighting and more threat of death (an odd thing to be excited about, but shut up), but the cast has been expanded to bring in Ant-Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Baron Zemo and Martin Freeman being himself probably. And theyre all reason enough to be excited without the rest of the story even comes into it. Plus the Russos doing an almost full Avengers movie is a hugely exciting prospect after they handled The Winter Soldier so sublimely.
