It’s
only another belated addition to an iconic sci-fi franchise whose fans are likely
to riot if they don’t get the dream reboot they’re hoping for!
However, the Wachowski sisters shouldn’t have much trouble delighting fans of the original Matrix trilogy with this long-awaited follow-up, given that the two sequels the franchise already has, Reloaded and Revolutions, are hardly The Empire Strikes Back in terms of fandom popularity.
As a result, expectations are tentatively high for this instalment which sees the return of original stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss in an all-new Matrix story about which we know nothing so far—except that poor Hugo Weaving missed the call. Better luck next time.
