13 Anticipated 2018 Movies Destined To Disappoint

The Buzz: The New Mutants seeks to take the X-Men franchise in a new direction with a superhero horror movie starring some of the hottest young actors working today, namely Anya Taylor-Joy, Maisie Williams and Charlie Heaton.

If nothing else, it surely won't just be another blandly formulaic superhero movie like X-Men: Apocalypse, right?

Why It'll Disappoint: Sad as it is to say, the first trailer was woefully underwhelming, suggesting that though The New Mutants is indeed an outright horror film, it's also going to adhere to the moldiest genre tropes imaginable, namely creepy hospitals and ghastly figures pressing themselves through walls.

This certainly calls into question how well-suited The Fault in Our Stars director Josh Boone really is for the gig, and it wouldn't be at all surprising if this ends up a disappointingly rote, jump scare-riddled horror that wastes its strong cast.
