13 Anticipated 2018 Movies Destined To Disappoint

The Buzz: Based on the classic 80s arcade game of the same name, Rampage sees Dwayne Johnson playing a muscled primatologist who seeks to bring three mutated, oversized animals (a gorilla, alligator and a wolf) under control.

San Andreas director Brad Peyton helms, which combined with an appealing cast (Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman and Joe Manganiello) could make Rampage a fun B-movie that knows exactly what it is and delivers accordingly.

Why It'll Disappoint: The biggest red flag here is that the movie hits cinemas in around five months yet there's not even a single teaser trailer out yet, which for a CGI-heavy blockbuster, and one starring The Rock no less, is pretty damn suspect.

Considering that the three CGI monsters are going to make or break the movie, it's possible that Warner Bros. is struggling to bring them to the screen in convincing fashion, which could explain the movie's minimal PR presence so far.

Don't be surprised if the final product is a mess of awkward visual effects and Johnson's game attempts to prop the movie up. Either way, it probably won't be a video game movie for the ages, as fun as it could potentially be.
