13 Awesome Actresses Who Need To Play Bond Girls

10. Vera Farmiga

Why It Could Happen: Like Kruger, Vera Farmiga is a nice compromise between the two age "extremes" that Bond has dealt with, but more to the point, she's an insanely talented actress who has proven herself extremely versatile in horror films, crime thrillers and straight-up dramas. Though the American females aren't massively popular in Bond films, Farmiga's striking look and dramatic gravitas could easily make her a force to reckoned with as a slightly more plausible femme fatale for the iconic spy. Whether she's wearing a cocktail dress or kitted out in more practical field attire, she'd be 100% believable. Why It Might Not: Age works against her somewhat, but it's mainly the nationality prejudice: the last American Bond girl was Halle Berry in 2002's Die Another Day, and most would flat-out prefer to forget that. And before her? Denise Richards. And before her? The admittedly more tolerable but still "meh" Teri Hatcher. How Likely Is It?: American women just don't seem to mesh well with Bond, but that said, Farmiga is in a whole other league compared to the aforementioned actresses, and the grittier tone should make the pairing seem a lot less goofy, as much as we all love those exotic accents. Neither ridiculously likely or unlikely, this one's right down the middle. 5/10
