1. Spider-Man Is In The MCU (And He Could Have Been Andrew Garfield)
2015's biggest story so far saw the announcement that Sony were basically giving up on their current approach to Spider-Man (though they will outwardly say they're keeping the framework for now) and teaming up with Marvel to get the character right (hopefully). It's a big announcement, particularly as it gives Civil War - the expected film he will feature in - the necessary poster-boy, and if Sony then base their soft reboot on the same timeline, it immediately puts Spidey on the back-foot. Despite the fact that they're wiping the slate clean, Sony apparently did entertain the idea of not making Andrew Garfield their scapegoat, according to the Daily Beast. Apparently, Sony contacted the actor close to the MCU announcement to explain what was happening with the character and discussed him potentially continuing the role but ultimately it didnt make sense to keep him for what will be a new chapter for Spider-Man. Which sounds like lip service, frankly.
